Actually, your age shouldn’t determine the type of product you wear. It’s all about your skin type and what your skin concerns are.
Mature skin is typically drier, so the hydrating properties of a tinted moisturizer could be a big benefit. In addition, the dewy finish of a tinted moisturizer is perfect if your concern is around dullness (which is typically a result of dryness). Overall, if you don’t need quite as much coverage, a tinted moisturizer would also be your go-to option.
If you have discoloration and dark spots that you want to cover, opt for a foundation that provides greater coverage. Foundations, especially oil-free versions, also usually work best for oily skin.
